Shopping opportunities in Saarbrücken

Are you new to Saarbrücken and want to know where you can get your everyday things? Being new in a city is often not easy and it takes some time to find your way around. Be it finding new clothes, your favorite shampoo, a charging cable or nice decorative items for your room, this blog post will hopefully help you find your way as quickly as possible.

Bahnhofstrasse in Saarbrücken is a vibrant main artery of the city that attracts both locals and visitors with its diverse offerings. This lively street stretches from the main train station to the Ludwigskirche and offers a wide range of shopping opportunities, culinary delights and cultural experiences.

For shopping enthusiasts, Bahnhofstrasse offers an extensive range of shops ranging from international brands to local boutiques. Fashion, jewelry, cosmetics and electronics – everyone will find something to their taste here.

Europagalerie 1

The Europagalerie is a shopping center located at the foot of Bahnhofstrasse. Located directly in front of Saarbrücken main train station, the shopping center is a convenient way to do your shopping. You can find almost everything there. On the ground floor there is a Rewe, as well as jewelry and clothing stores. You can also find a Saturn branch there. The Footlounge on the upper floor offers opportunities to strengthen yourself after shopping.

Müller 1

The Müller drugstore opened in November 2023. You will discover two extensive floors. There, in what is possibly the largest drugstore in Saarbrücken, you will definitely find what you are looking for. The Müller drugstore also has food, toys and decorations.

Bahnhofstraße 2
Bahnhofstrasse towards Europagalerie

Bahnhofstrasse is THE shopping street in Saarbrücken. It is a pedestrian zone that you can walk along under the roof even when it is raining. From the St. Johanner Markt to the Europagalerie there are all kinds of shops to the right and left. The numerous seating options offer an opportunity to take a break from all the shopping. 😉

Saarbrücken also has a Karstadt branch in the middle of the city center. The department store offers everything your heart desires over several floors. There is also an Aldi branch under the building. Right next door is Zara, the perfect place for new, trendy clothes. Under the actual shopping arcade there is even an underground passage with various shops, including a flower shop and an Asian market.

It’s best to start your shopping trip at St. Johanner Markt and stroll further up the pedestrian zone. Just follow Bahnhofstraße in the direction of EUROPA-Galerie and you’ll definitely find what you’re looking for 🙂
