You live in the middle of the city and it’s noisy, your flatmates are annoying and you urgently need a change of scenery to be able to study effectively? Then we can warmly recommend the libraries at the htw saar campuses and the library at Saarland University! Here you can take your time to write assignments, study for exams, catch up on material and so on. You’ll also have the right literature to hand! So procrastination doesn’t stand a chance here 😉

If you’re in a hurry and don’t have time to travel to the campus, we think the Saarbrücken City Library and the „Bakery“ and „Thonet“ cafés are great alternatives.

opening hours SULB mo – fr: 08:00 – 21:00. sa: 10:00 – 18:00

The opening hours of the SULB are a great advantage of this library. It is the only library that is also open on Saturdays and if you can’t find a place to study in the SULB, there are various other places on campus, such as the Philo-Café, where you can enjoy a delicious coffee while studying.

The library at the Rotenbühl campus is a good place to study, especially for the economics students among us. Here you will find all the literature relevant to the module and there are usually enough places available. Here, too, you have to keep quiet, but there are also co-working spaces for group work, which you can find either directly in the entrance area or two rooms next to the library.

A stay at the Campus Rotenbühl Library

A person enters the library, greets the camera, picks up a book from the "tourism" shelf, sits down at a table with a laptop and various other learning materials, takes notes, stands up, puts the book back on the shelf and leaves the library the same way.

The library at the Alt-Saarbrücken campus of htw saar is open on weekdays at the same times as the Rotenbühl campus. However, it has one advantage: you can also study here on Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00.

There is also the library at the Göttelborn campus.

And for those who want a bit of variety and prefer to study with a little background noise: „Thonet“ or „the bakery“ are very nice cafés with free WiFi, coffee & cake as well as savoury food and lots of other young people. What’s more, both are usually open from morning to evening.
